Well. Starting up a business is not easy. Not that anyone said that, but it is hard to get all the endings meet when entering a market you don’t know. 

The original plan was for the KickStarter to be up and running by december 2021, but circumstances made it impossible to reach this goal. Because I’m studying, I’ve had the possibility to use an entire semester in an incubator to dedicate my entire time on this company. But my lack of knowledge about the African infrastructure and general laws, caused the delay of launch. Furthermore, I’ve spend A LOT of time looking at other entrepreneurs presenting their items on KickStarter, while at the same time talking to a bunch of people knowing how to launch a successful campaign. This is time consuming, I tell ya! Three months I’ve spend on figuring out how to do this correctly, and Covid-19 has put restrictions on the world, making it impossible to travel anywhere and create a network. I’m sitting in Denmark, and Africa is far away. 

I honestly hope that I’ll soon be able to launch this project, because it is what I want to do! I have found my calling, and the though of having a trivial 9-5 job with a daily plan and timed lunch-breaks when I’m done studying, is motivating enough to keep me going. A job is not just a job, I need to be inspired and find it exiting. 

From the bottom of my heart, I know this could be a succes – if I can make the ends meet, and if I can convince others that this is an awesome project. 

I need to try this out, and I need to test my skills as an entrepreneur. What we do is not unique or extraordinary – we produce T-Shirts. Where we differentiate, is the production. Our main goal is not to make a lot of money, or be a high-end brand. That is not our operating factor. Our goal is for both the seamstresses and for us to make a living, doing what we like to do, and for us to use our resources to help the ones less fortunate.
